Classification |
Exploratory: Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Pediatric, for children ages 7-10 (particularly studies interested in calcium and skeletal development)

Short Description of Instrument |
The Calcium Counts!© FFQ (CCFFQ) is a 41 item that assesses calcium intake in school- age children, aged 7-10 years (Zemel et al., 2010). The CCFFQ provides an alternative for estimating calcium intake in this population. The CCFFQ can be conducted with the parent or child and takes approximately 15 minutes to administer.
Validity/reliability: Concurrent validity: moderate (r = 0.61); Test/retest: high (r = 0.74)
|
Comments/Special Instructions |
Scoring: A computer program is utilized to calculate the calcium intake by the CCFFQ.
Age range: 7-10 years
|
Rationale/Justification |
The CCFFQ is especially well-suited as a tool to identify children with low calcium intakes (Margarey et al., 2014; Zemel et al., 2010).
